Conor McGregor caused a tremendous stir in the MMA world today when he sent out a tweet that may or may not have announced his retirement from the sport. McGregor (19-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC), the UFC featherweight champ who is set to rematch Nate Diaz (19-10 MMA, 14-8 UFC) in a 170-pound bout at UFC 200 in July 9, revealed he had “decided to retire young.” Whether that means effective immediately or in the near future has not been clarified, but that didn’t prevent an explosive reaction.
