Chris Weidman (12-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) proved his path to becoming UFC champion was no fluke on Saturday night with a unanimous decision victory over Lyoto Machida (21-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) in the UFC 175 headliner from Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center. Weidman successfully defended his belt for the second time overall and for the first time against an opponent other than Anderson Silva.
