After nearly a week of questions surrounding the health of Jose Aldo , news finally broke tonight that the UFC featherweight champion will not compete against Conor McGregor at UFC 189 on July 11. Instead, former two-time 145-pound title challenger Chad Mendes (17-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) will step in for Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) against McGregor (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) and fight for the interim belt.
