In a back-and-forth fight with a little bit of everything, Bryce Mitchell edged out Tyler Diamond by the slimmest of margins, despite getting the worst of it in the final round. Mitchell (10-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) survived a rough final frame to take the majority decision win over Diamond (9-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) notching the victory with scores of 29-28, 29-28, and 28-28. The featherweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s TUF 27 Finale event at Pearl Theatre at The Palms in Las Vegas. It aired on FS1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FS1. NASTY elbows by @ThugNastyMMA , but @TylerD1amond escapes the triangle and ends up on top! What a round! #TUF27 pic.twitter.com/Sn2RUA4ged — UFC (@ufc) July 7, 2018 After a first round that saw both fighters trade takedowns and significant strikes, Mitchell had his best moment of the fight early on in the second. That’s when he locked up a triangle choke from his back that appeared to have Diamond in some trouble.
