Jose Aldo I can’t be the only one who, upon seeing the latest in a long series of public staredowns between UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor , was reminded of “Groundhog Day.” Check that look on Aldo’s face as he’s forced to stand just inches from a jawing McGregor – again. Observe the dead-eyed existential despair, the faint, lingering hope for some sudden spasm of violence that might bring this pantomime to an end. Tell me that’s not the same look we see on weatherman Phil Connors’ face just before he drives that groundhog off a cliff. Funny thing about “Groundhog Day”: it’s actually the last film that Bill Murray and director Harold Ramis, a longtime friend, worked on together.
