When Tony Ferguson fights, there will be blood. Ferguson reminded people of that with a Twitter post Saturday night that essentially was a title shot request to UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov – wrapped in a little jab of an insult for good measure. Ferguson (25-3 MMA, 15-1 UFC), a former interim lightwieght champ, wants to challenge Nurmagomedov (28-0 MMA, 12-0 UFC) for the 155-pound title at UFC 245, the UFC’s final pay-per-view of 2019. That event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas already has two title fights on the card, and it would not be unlike the UFC to stack it up with a third. In his typical (and not at all annoying to punctuation purists) capitalize-every-word-for-no-reason fashion, Ferguson tweeted a collage of photos of some of his past opponents’ faces covered in blood during their fights, as well as a blood-soaked photo of himself. “Pretty sure we can make some room for good ol’ fathead @TeamKhabib #TeamTiramisuTakeover,” Ferguson posted (unnecessary capitalization removed here for sanity’s sake) .
