Japanese promotion Rizin FF’s second event in two days at the Pia Arena saw a night packed with finishes on a memorable evening in Yokohama. Taglined “Calling Over,” Rizin FF 23 featured a nine-fight card, including six MMA bouts that culminated with the coronation of a new bantamweight champion as Kai Asakura and Hiromasa Ogikubo battled it out for the vacant 135-pound strap. Bantamweights also featured in the co-headliner, as contenders Yuki Motoya and Mamoru Uoi faced off for a possible shot at the newly-crowned champion.
