After being on the receiving end of a “Knockout of the Year” candidate, Muhammed Lawal delivered one of his own at Wednesday’s Bellator 96 event. In headliner of the event, Lawal (10-2 MMA, 2-1 BFC) scored a violent first-round knockout after blasting a downed Seth Petruzelli (14-8 MMA, 1-2 BFC) with a monstrous right hand. The one-hitter quitter moved Lawal to the finale of the four-man “Summer Series” light-heavyweight tournament, where he’ll meet fellow Bellator 96 winner Jacob Noe . With the win, Lawal successfully rebounded from a spinning-backfist knockout to Emanuel Newton earlier this year. Bellator 96 took place at WinStar World Casino at Thackerville, Okla. For a look at Lawal’s big knockout, as well as the rest of the action from the Spike TV-televised main card, check out the video above.
