Filed under: Featured Videos , News , Videos ONE Championship welterweight Ben Askren did his thing in this past Friday’s ONE Championship 41 headliner. Askren (15-0) dominated Nikolay Aleksakhin (17-4) at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines, in a non-title affair. After Aleksakhin came in overweight on fight day, the bout became a five-round non-championship affair. And Askren, who’s ranked No. 4 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA welterweight rankings , made his opponent pay for much of the fight. Although Askren took a few hard shots, the NCAA Division I national wrestling champion and Olympian used a steady stream of takedowns and ground and pound – and some ONE Championship-legal knees to his downed opponent – for another decisive victory.
