MACAU – Although Milana Dudiev a (11-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) spent much of the fight either throwing and just missing with a big right hand or else flat on her back, eating perfunctory ground-and-pound from Elizabeth Phillips  (4-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC), she still somehow managed to come away with a split-decision victory (30-27, 28-29, 29-28) after three close rounds. The women’s bantamweight bout opened the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 48 event at The Venetian Macao’s CotaiArena in Macau. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass. How the judges arrived at their scores in this one might forever remain a mystery. Dudieva started strong, backing up Phillips with righthand haymakers in the first round and keeping her on the defensive with aggressive flurries.
