It wasn’t that long ago when Mike Thomas Brown sat atop the 145-pound division as champion, but a lot can change in five years. Brown (26-8) defeated then-champion Urijah Faber in November 2008 to capture the WEC featherweight title. He defended the belt twice before losing it to current UFC titleholder Jose Aldo . After losing the title, Brown went 2-3 in his next five fights. The 37-year-old American Top Team trained athlete has won his last two bouts, but hasn’t competed since May 2012. Long layoffs typically don’t benefit fighters, but Brown spent the time improving his game
