Jordan Burroughs has altered his stance on competing in MMA. Burroughs, who is one of the greatest amateur wrestlers of all time with an Olympic gold medal and two NCAA Division 1 championships on his resume, has never been particularly warm to the idea of putting on MMA gloves to step into the cage. As recently as January, in fact, Burroughs said he was unlikely to even make the switch, citing the fight he simply has no desire to get “punched in the face.” Something has seemingly forced a change in tone, though. On Wednesday, Burroughs took to social media and said he’s fighting the urge to give MMA a try – but just one time (via Twitter ): I want one MMA fight before I retire.
