The contest served as the main event of Friday’s CES MMA 32 event, which took place at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I., and aired on AXS TV. The powerful striking of de Freitas was avoided by Curtis in the opening moments of the bout before he uncorked a counter right that stunned his foe. With de Freitas hurt, Curtis went on the attack, throwing almost every strike in his arsenal before a knee scored the knockdown and set up the finish.
