Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos has been handed a one-year suspension by the United States Anti-Doping Agency, according to his team. The UFC welterweight failed an out-of-competition drug test for ostarine , a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) which is prohibited at all times, on April 8 and thus has been suspended by USADA – the UFC’s anti-doping partner. Zaleski dos Santos’ manager Tiago Okamura confirmed the news to MMA Junkie after being first reported by MMA Fighting . Zaleski dos Santos’ team denies any intentional wrongdoing and claims the drug test failure came from a tainted supplement. They said they acquired the suspected supplements independently tested by a certified lab in Brazil. One of the supplements came back positive for ostarine, which they then communicated to USADA
