Ray Cooper III proved his breakthrough victory against Jake Shields in the PFL welterweight season opener was no fluke when he steamrolled Pavel Kusch just seconds into Thursday’s PFL 6 headliner. Cooper III (14-4) put himself in a prominent position in the 170-pound season standings with an 18-second knockout of Kusch (23-5) in the NBCSN-televised headliner at Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, N.J. After picking up five points with his upset of Shields at PFL 3 in July, Cooper came back just five weeks later to earn six points in what was arguably an even more impressive performance against Kusch. Cooper III came out on fire as he rocked Kusch with a hard shot that put him on the defensive. Once Cooper III smelled blood, he pursued his opponent with bad intentions. He put Kusch down with flurry of punches that caused referee Keith Peterson to step in just 18 seconds after the fight began
