The main event saw longtime middleweight champion Anderson Silva (33-5 MMA, 16-1 UFC) finally dethroned after 16 straight UFC wins and 10 successful title defenses. Challenger Chris Weidman (10-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) knocked Silva out in the second round.
