Donald Cerrone Following his win this past weekend at UFC 187, Donald Cerrone has finally been promised the next title shot. Cerrone (28-6 MMA, 15-3 UFC), who easily handled and appeared to break the jaw of replacement John Makdessi (13-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) on Saturday’s pay-per-view main card, gets the next shot at recently crowned lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos (24-7 MMA, 13-5 UFC). UFC President Dana White confirmed the plans with UFC.com after UFC 187, which took place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. A date and event haven’t been determined for the rematch, but after UFC 187, Cerrone said he’s willing to wait for the UFC’s currently unscheduled return to Colorado: Dos Anjos, who’s on the mend after tearing his MCL prior to a title win over Anthony Pettis in March, hopes to return by year’s end.
