LONDON – England’s Jack Cartwright produced a pair of stunning knockouts as he won the four-man bantamweight title tournament on a spectacular night at Cage Warriors Unplugged 2. The event, a special invitation-only affair held at BT Sport’s state-of-the-art studios on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, saw a quartet of bantamweight contenders, including three former title challengers, face off in a one-night elimination tournament for the title recently vacated by new UFC signing Jack Shore. And it was arguably the least heralded of the quartet in the tournament who ended up as the last man standing as Cartwright delivered two huge first-round finishes to walk away with the strap. Cartwright arrived at the BT Sport studios as the dark horse of the tournament as the only one of the quartet not to have fought for the title already. But his semifinal performance showed that he was more than worthy of his place in the competition as he knocked out Scott Malone in dramatic fashion to book his place in the final. Cartwright clipped Malone and dropped him with a swift right-left combination, then followed up with a guillotine choke attempt as the Scot attempted to scramble out of danger.
