The UFC’s in-cage product got off to a strong start in 2025 on Saturday, with UFC Fight Night 249 seeing nine of 14 fights end inside the distance, including a number of brutal knockouts. It was submission that led the way in the main event, however, with Mackenzie Dern (15-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) putting on one of her career-best performances en route to a third-round submission finish of Amanda Ribas (12-6 MMA, 7-5 UFC) in their strawweight main event rematch at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Dern was one of several names to leave an imprint on the record books. For more on the numbers, check below for MMA Junkie’s post-event facts from UFC Fight Night 249. * * * *
