Former Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima (27-6 MMA, 9-2 BMMA) returned from a yearlong layoff to score a clearcut decision win over hard-hitting knockout artist Paul Daley (38-14-2 MMA, 4-1 BMMA). The contest served as the featured bout of Saturday’s Bellator 158 event, which took place Saturday at The O2 in London. The fight card aired via tape delay on Spike in the U.S. While “Semtex” is the vaunted striker, it was Lima who actually scored a knockdown early in the opening round. Daley picked himself up off the floor but was unable to offer any real significant offense once back on his feet, where he found himself defending takedown attempts more often than not. Daley tried to push things in the second, but Lima was still the sharper man on the feet.
