The commission is set to conduct a regulatory experiment, recently announcing it will put three MMA judges in “soundproof isolated rooms” to work in tandem with three cageside judges for Oct. 31’s Cage Fury Fighting Championship 52 event, which takes place at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. The sequestered judges get a muted video feed of the fights. After each bout, both sets of judges will deliver scorecards to officials. Cageside judges will still get the final say, but the NJSACB thinks the comparison could be revealing.
