Vettori (16-4-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) showed his skillset is deeper than previously recognized when he went tooth-and-nail with Hermansson (21-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) for all five rounds, emerging with a unanimous decision at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. With four consecutive wins to his credit at 185 pounds, Vettori is pushing for a high profile bout for his next outing. He originally targeted Paulo Costa, but then changed his mind and said he should be next to challenge champion Israel Adesanya, who he fought to a competitive decision against at UFC on FOX 29 in April 2018.
