Moraes (23-7-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) fell to 1-1 since he challenged for UFC gold in June 2019 when he succumbed to a highlight-reel TKO loss against Sandhagen (13-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) in the bantamweight headliner, which took place at Flash Forum at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Although Moraes is still a top contender at 135 pounds, his road to gold got a little longer with the defeat to Sandhagen
