Michael Bisping The UFC’s upcoming debut event in Scotland, UFC Fight Night 72, proved a popular offering with ticket-buyers. UFC officials today announced the event, which takes place July 18 at the 13,000-seat SSE Hydro in Glasgow, sold out “in a matter of hours.” “Scottish fans have overwhelmed us with their enthusiasm and support for this event and the announced bouts on the card,” UFC EMEA SVP and GM David Allen stated. “There is a great deal of hype around this event, and we can’t wait to get to Glasgow in July. “With a sellout as quick as this, the only question remaining is, ‘Are Scottish fans going to be louder and more passionate than the Irish fans, who set the decibel record in the 3Arena at the Dublin event last year?’” The event, which is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass, features a recently announced headliner between middleweights Michael Bisping (26-7 MMA, 16-7 UFC) and Thales Leites (25-4 MMA, 10-3 UFC).
