LAS VEGAS – Bantamweight Sarah Alpar upset the odds with her victory over Shanna Young at Dana White’s Contender Series 24, though judging by her chat to the media backstage after her contract-winning performance, upsetting people seems to be the last thing she’d ever want to do. The super-polite Alpar (9-4) scored a second-round submission win over Young (6-2), and still was brimming with excitement when she spoke to MMA Junkie following her victory. “There really are no words,” she said. “I’m eternally grateful and I’m just ready for the next step and to get back in there and work on what I need to. I’m a UFC fighter. I can’t believe it!” Related DWCS 24 results: Three contracts awarded, one developmental deal issued Alpar was the betting underdog heading into her contest at the UFC Apex, but she said that came as no surprise with her friendly, non-aggressive persona effectively hiding her burning desire to compete and succeed
