But her title-driven attitude doesn’t mean that McMann is going to sit around and wait until champ Amanda Nunes and all-but-confirmed title challenger Valentina Shevchenko figure out the more immediate destination of the 135-pound title. In fact, McMann is absolutely OK with taking an in-between scrap before getting a new stab at the belt. She just thinks that, at this point, doing so should be an option, rather than an obligation. “I am asking them to fight more frequently, and I don’t care if I have to fight somebody else before,” McMann told MMAjunkie backstage. “But I don’t have to fight somebody else before in order to prove it.
