The matchup is foreign territory to MacDonald (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) in many ways. Not only is it his first title fight, but it’s also his first rematch. He fought Lawler (24-10 MMA, 10-4 UFC) once before and dropped a split decision to “Ruthless” at UFC 167 in November 2013.
