Putvin (7-1), who meets Thiago Alves Cavalcante Rodrigues (9-3) in a short notice co-headliner tonight at RFA 35, was 5 when he gave himself the moniker announced over the loudspeakers before his colorful walkouts: Playtime. Putvin, whose bout takes place at UCCU Center in Orem, Utah, and airs on AXS TV, didn’t mean it as an indication he takes MMA less seriously than others. Instead, he said it reflects the type of open-minded attitude in the cage that opens up opportunities for a submission artist.
