The welterweight title fight served as the headliner of the event, which took place at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo. The main card aired on AXS TV. Velickovic (13-3) was the better fighter in the clinch for the entirity of the fight and avoided the ground threat of Smith (15-4) when the action did hit the floor
