Sam Alvey “Smile’n” Sam Alvey may have a slightly harder time living up to his nickname this holiday season. Alvey (26-7 MMA, 3-2 UFC) told the MMA Latest website a kick to the face during training left him with a broken jaw, which will force him out of his middleweight fight against Daniel Sarafian (9-5 MMA, 2-3 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 82 in February. UFC officials have not yet confirmed the injury, though with nearly two months before the event takes place, a replacement is likely to be sought to fight Sarafian on the card. UFC Fight Night 82 takes place Feb. 21 at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. The card will air on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass
