Petr Yan has punishment on his mind going into the new year. As the UFC calendar prepares to flip the page into 2022, one of the expected matchups on the horizon is the bantamweight championship unification bout between Aljamain Sterling and interim titleholder Yan. The bad blood between the two is legitimate, stemming from the controversial first meeting at UFC 259 in March, when Yan (16-2 MMA, 8-1 UFC) cost himself the belt by getting disqualified with an illegal knee strike on Sterling (20-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC)
