Pedro Carvalho will not let Thursday’s result discourage him from his ultimate goal. The Bellator featherweight contender suffered a first-round knockout loss in a title fight with Bellator lightweight and featherweight champion Patricio Freire (31-4 MMA, 19-4 BMMA) in the main event of Bellator 252 in Uncasville, Conn. The bout was both a title fight and a quarterfinal in the Bellator featherweight grand prix. Carvalho (11-4 MMA, 4-1 BMMA) was stopped at the 2:10 mark of round one after getting wobbled on the feet by the champion. The defeat snapped a six-fight Carvalho winning streak
