In fact, he’d like to stay away from both those discussions as long as possible. Unlike most UFC fighters, Aubin-Mercier isn’t shooting straight for the top. With just seven professional fights, he wants to take the slow and steady approach rather than seek matchups that could quickly shoot him to the top of the rankings. That’s an honest approach from Aubin-Mercier (6-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC), who meets Tony Sims (12-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) on Sunday at UFC Fight Night 74. The lightweight bout airs on the FOX Sports 1-televised main card following prelims on the same channel and UFC Fight Pass at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
