Back in July, when he was stuck in a 1-3 skid, Pickett returned to bantamweight from flyweight and took on undefeated super prospect Thomas Almeida. Despite his opponent being a nearly 7-1 favorite, Pickett knocked down Almeida twice and broke his nose in the opening round of their UFC 189 bout.
