Dustin Poirier After three consecutive wins in the UFC lightweight division, Dustin Poirier hopes he’s earned a matchup against a top-10 opponent in arguably the sport’s most competitive weight class. Poirier (19-4 MMA, 11-3 UFC) added another impressive victory to his UFC record on Saturday when he defeated Joseph Duffy (14-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) by lopsided unanimous decision at UFC 195 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Not only did “The Diamond” rack up two 30-27 and a 30-26 on the scorecards on the UFC Fight Pass-streamed bout, but he also did it despite breaking his nose in two places early in the first round. Prior to the matchup, Duffy was touted as the last man to defeat UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor. Poirier snatched away some of that aura when he used his wrestling to put Duffy on the ground and keep him there for the majority of the three-round fight.
