Becoming a UFC champion comes with its share of injuries along the way, and newly minted champ Rafael dos Anjos is no different. Dos Anjos, the UFC 155-pound champion, had an MRI done on his knee on Tuesday and it was revealed that he suffered a partial tear of his medial collateral ligament leading up to last Saturday’s win at UFC 185, according to “UFC Tonight.” The injury won’t require surgery, but a partially broken nose will. The fighter’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, informed the FOX Sports 1 program that dos Anjos can’t breathe out of his right nostril, and his left is only working at about 70 percent. Surgery for the fighter is scheduled for Thursday, and dos Anjos will be out of action at least three months. Anthony Pettis also suffered an injury, according to the broadcast. The now-former champion suffered a broken orbital bone and will have no contact for six weeks.
