PARIS – After a decade at bantamweight, Nathaniel Wood gave himself a fresh start at featherweight earlier this year. But in a bit of a rarity, he said it was a fight that never happened that gave him the push to move up a division. When Vince Morales pulled out of a March fight on the day of the card in London in March, Wood was left watching from the sideline instead of making his return for the first time in nearly a year and a half. The result was a move to 145 pounds against Charles Rosa in July and a win after 21 months of inactivity. Saturday, Wood (18-5 MMA, 5-2 UFC) opens the UFC Fight Night 209 main card in Paris against Charles Jourdain (13-5-1 MMA, 4-4-1 UFC).
