Nick Diaz received one of the harshest punishments in MMA history today when the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) suspended and fined the UFC fighter for a positive marijuana test at UFC 183 in January. After nearly four hours of proceedings, Diaz (26-10 MMA, 7-7 UFC) was handed a lengthy five-year suspension and fined $165,000 from his purse for the UFC 183 bout with Anderson Silva, who is also currently suspended for failed drug tests around the event.
