(ALSO SEE: Mick Maynard’s Shoes: What’s next for Jairzinho Rozenstruik after UFC Fight Night 186 loss? ) Ciryl Gane pushed his name forward on the heavyweight title contender list Saturday when he emerged victorious from the UFC Fight Night 186 headliner against Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Although Gane (8-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) was the only one of February’s three heavyweight main events to need the scorecards, he had his way with Rozenstruik (11-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) over the course of five rounds, winning each frame en route to a lopsided unanimous decision at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Gane now is the first heavyweight since Francis Ngannou to start a UFC career 5-0, and the Frenchman appears to have all the tools to one day find himself in a UFC title fight, or perhaps even claim the belt. As much as he thinks he’s ready for it , though, Gane’s next fight won’t be for UFC gold. So where does that leave him in the divisional landscape?
