Jimy Hettes LAS VEGAS – A preliminary card fight between featherweights Jimy Hettes and Diego Brandao has been scratched from tonight’s UFC 183 card due to a medical issue suffered by Hettes. UFC officials announced the news just as the event was supposed to be getting underway at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The promotion did not announce announce which fighter suffered the medical issue, which multiple sources close to the fight told MMAjunkie Hettes passed out backstage. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the situation. Hettes (11-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and Brandao (18-10 MMA, 4-3 UFC) were set to meet on the UFC Fight Pass-streamed portion of the prelims. Hettes, a well-rounded 27-year-old who’s been training for more than a decade in both boxing and grappling, had a promising start in the UFC after submitting Alex Caceres and earning a decision win over Nam Phan in his first two bouts with the promotion.
