A light heavyweight matchup between Brazilian superstar Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (22-9 MMA, 6-7 UFC) and British slugger Jimi Manuwa (14-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) will headline UFC Fight Night 56 in Brazil. The matchup was first reported by Brazilian outlet Globo and later confirmed by UFC officials. Rua vs. Manuwa will serve as the five-round headlining bout for the card, which is expected to take place at Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Rua is a former UFC light heavyweight champion, but he’s struggled to maintain any degree of consistency in his octagon career. He fought most recently in March, appearing well on his way to an impressive win in a rematch with Dan Henderson before he was caught by an “H-Bomb,” ending his night in the third round.
