A new LFA welterweight champion was crowned Friday night as Maycon Mendonca bested Batsumberel Dagvadorj to claim the vacant title. The battle for the 170-pound strap was the headline bout at LFA 96 , which took place Friday at Hartman Arena in Park City, Kan. The card streamed on UFC Fight Pass. The pair engaged in a full-on, toe-to-toe battle that went the full five-round championship distance, but it was Mendonca who took the victory, and the title, after earning scores of 50-45, 49-46 and 49-46 after a thrilling battle. The night also saw victories for undefeated prospects Anthony Romero and Mo Miller , with Romero earning a unanimous decision over Zach Juusola, while Miller scored an eye-catching knockout of Regivaldo Carvalho.
