The UFC 305 co-main event featured a flyweight bout between contenders.  Fourth-ranked  Kai Kara-France faced off against seventh-ranked  Steve Erceg in a bout many believed could earn ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.   Kara-France entered the bout coming off back-to-back losses and was looking to get back in the win column.  Erceg had an 11-fight winning streak snapped in his last fight, losing to champion  Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 301 in May.   Kara-France moved along the outside rotating to his right.
