Filed under: Bellator , Featured Videos , News , Videos SAN JOSE, Calif. – Josh Thomson is one of a solid group of big-name fighters to make their way over to Bellator in recent months. The former Strikeforce lightweight champion had a good relationship with Scott Coker when that promotion was around, and now that Coker is the president of Bellator, the fit seemed natural when Thomson moved on from the UFC. On Saturday, Thomson makes his promotional debut at Bellator 142, and he gets to do it in his home city of San Jose, Calif., where he still lives and trains. Thomson (20-8 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) will be looking to get his Bellator career off to the right start – and snap a three-fight skid – against Mike Bronzoulis (18-8-1 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) on the main card, which airs live on Spike from SAP Center following prelims on MMAjunkie. In the video above, Thomson talks about his decision to sign with Bellator, why Bronzoulis has nothing to lose against him, making him dangerous; and why one-night tournaments, like the light heavyweight variety taking place tonight, are “awesome.” For more on Bellator 142 , check out the MMA Rumors section of the site.
