Joseph Benavidez wants you to know there’s no real rivalry between two of California’s most prominent gyms, Team Alpha Male and Alliance MMA. Benavidez, a recent UFC flyweight title challenger, recently joined MMAjunkie Radio as a guest host and discussed speculation about about a potential cross-camp beef. After all, two of the gyms’ most prominent members, Team Alpha Male’s Urijah Faber and Alliance MMA’s Dominick Cruz (19-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) , are well-documented enemies. However, Benavidez, a Team Alpha Male rep, said any such grudges end there. “It’s a Cruz and Faber rivalry, not an Alpha Male-Alliance rivalry,” he said.
