UFC lightweight Mateusz Gamrot wants to hush anyone who questions the legitimacy of the injury that forced Jorge Masvidal to withdraw from his UFC 269 grudge match with Leon Edwards . After Masvidal (35-15 MMA, 12-8 UFC) pulled out of the matchup with Edwards (19-3 MMA, 11-2 UFC) on Dec. 11 due to an undisclosed injury , there was a lot of speculation, including from Edwards himself, that maybe “Gamebred” wanted to evade the matchup to pursue a bout with Colby Covington instead. Masvidal hasn’t said much about the situation and has kept details about the nature of his injury close to the vest. It seems it was no joke, though, and Gamrot is defensive over the insinuation Masvidal didn’t want to move forward with the fight. Gamrot, who trains alongside Masvidal at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Fla., snapped back at Edwards for calling his teammate a “fraud” and claims he witnessed the injury in-person (via Twitter ): @Leon_edwardsmma Shut your mouth poosy.
