He's back…. @JonnyBones posted this on Instagram and deleted it But you know @MMAHistoryToday got you covered pic.twitter.com/EodJL0xXZp — MMA History Today (@MMAHistoryToday) October 4, 2015 Jon Jones broke his social media silence following Daniel Cormier ’s title defense against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192, posting a video on Instagram before quickly deleting it in classic Jones fashion. Jones (21-1 MMA, 15-1 MMA), the ex-UFC light heavyweight champ and longtime rival of Cormier (17-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC), defeating the current UFC champ at UFC 182 in January before he was stripped of the title and suspended by the organization in a highly publicized story . “Bones” recently struck a plea deal to resolve his involvement in an April hit-and-run, which cleared the way for his return to competition. Cormier captured the vacant title in Jones’ absence and his first successful defense of the 205-pound belt against Gustafsson put the pieces in place to set up a rematch. There was a lack of clarity about Jones’ desire to return to the octagon after his controversial absence, but in the video (now deleted but captured by MMA History Today ), he hinted that a comeback could be imminent.
