Filed under: Featured Videos , News , UFC , Videos Welterweight veteran Jon Fitch sees his participation in a class-action lawsuit against UFC parent Zuffa as a statement against the unfair labor practices. With big business taking advantage of labor, he said, it’s up to him to help even the scales. “If I have to start that fight focusing on my industry, which is MMA, then I’ll do that,” Fitch (26-7-1) told MMAjunkie. “But this is not just a selfish thing for me to make more money.” Of course, as one of the lawsuit’s original plaintiffs, Fitch stands to benefit if Zuffa is found to have engaged in anti-competitive practices. But he said any potential gains are offset by the ancillary costs to fighting the industry-leader in the courtroom. “One of the big things I learned listening to the NFL player’s association was that people who lead their industry in pushing for labor equality are usually ostracized and take the most heavy losses,” he said.
