The UFC held its second pay-per-view event in a 22-day span on Saturday as UFC 170 took place at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center. The headliner featured yet another title defense for UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC), who stopped Sara McMann (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) with a first-round TKO. Daniel Cormier (14-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) also had a short night of work as he blitzed promotional rookie Patrick Cummins (4-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) for a first-round TKO in his highly anticipated light-heavyweight debut. The rest of the main card saw welterweights Rory MacDonald (16-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) and Mike Pyle (26-9-1 MMA, 9-4 UFC) rebound from discouraging losses in their previous outings while Stephen Thompson (9-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) picked up his third consecutive octagon win
