The main event at Phoenix’s U.S. Airways Center saw former UFC champ Junior dos Santos (17-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) return from a 14-month layoff to earn a hard-fought unanimous-decision victory over Stipe Miocic (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC). In the co-main event, Rafael dos Anjos (23-7 MMA, 12-5 UFC) continued his rise up the lightweight ranks with a three-round thumping of Nate Diaz (23-10 MMA, 11-8 UFC) that apparently earned the Brazilian a title shot. The remaining main-card bouts took place in the heavyweight division.
